Works on wood are made from archival drawings, paintings, and prints on paper that are then mounted on wood, layered with oil pastels and encaustic wax. Works on canvas are painted, and/or printed on canvas, and then layered with oil pastel and micro-crystalline wax medium (a flexible wax that adheres to pliable surfaces). a side note: I love doing commissioned work, many of the herons in this sale were made for one heron commission. I just fell in love with them and went a little heron nuts. So if you love orioles, mums, dragon flies, etc. chances are I might go head over heels for them too!
